Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of therapy that aims to improve the flow of vital energy in the body.  In order to be healthy, this vital energy needs to circulate freely. Imbalances arise when the normal movement of energy is hindered which may lead to  an accumulation of energetic toxins in the body. Shiatsu allows us to positively influence this energy flow and to accelerate the body's natural healing process.

What to expect in a shiatsu treatment:

A Shiatsu treatment normally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes . The receiver lies or sits on the ground on a thin mat or futon. The therapist applies pressure with their thumbs, palms, elbows or knees along energy pathways called meridiens.

How to dress for your Shiatsu treatment:

Comfort first!

Normally during a Shiatsu treatment, the receiver remains fully clothed. Comfortable

loose clothing are recommended. A short or long sleeved t-shirt, jogging pants, shorts or tights are all suitable. Avoid wearing skirts, dresses, jeans or tight clothing.
